Project Overview:
In 2023-24, we executed a critical infrastructure project for Western Railway Ratlam, focusing on the upgradation of a 33 KV overhead power line by transitioning it to an underground system. This first phase of the project aimed to enhance the safety and reliability of the power distribution network, particularly in areas where overhead lines posed risks due to railway operations and environmental factors.
Key Aspects of the Project:
- Undergrounding of Power Lines: The primary objective was to replace existing 33 KV overhead power lines with underground cables. This not only reduced the risks associated with overhead lines, such as accidental damage and weather-related outages but also improved the overall aesthetics and safety of the railway infrastructure.
- Phase-1 Execution: As part of the first phase, a significant portion of the power line crossing was successfully transitioned underground, laying the foundation for future phases to complete the full upgrade of the network.
- Coordination with Western Railway: The project required close coordination with Western Railway Ratlam to minimize disruptions to rail operations. Work was planned and executed in a manner that ensured continuous power supply while maintaining operational safety.
- Adherence to Safety Standards: Safety was a top priority throughout the project. Rigorous safety protocols were followed during the undergrounding process, ensuring the protection of workers, railway personnel, and the general public.
- Efficient Project Management: The project, valued at ₹1.94 crore, was delivered within the stipulated time frame and budget. Effective resource management and precise execution played key roles in the successful completion of this phase.
